CelebNmusic247.com got some shocking news on our desks today when it was revealed that AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been cleared of the most serious charge in an alleged plot to murder two people. The slaying was to have taken place in one of the most beautiful places on earth, New Zealand.

The head prosecutor in the town of Tauranga said that due to insufficient evidence, he had dropped the charge that Rudd had attempted to hire a hit man.

Rudd, however, still faces a charge of threatening to kill, which carries a maximum seven-year sentence, according to the New Zealand Herald.

Members of Rudd’s legendary rock group attempted to distance themselves from the Aussie-born drummer.

Here is what was said in a statement that was released:

“We’ve only become aware of Phil’s arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment.”

“Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album ‘Rock or Bust’ and upcoming tour next year.”
