Divergent Star Theo James To Star in Underworld 5

The long-awaited Underworld is finally getting it’s 5th installment with Divergent Star Theo James To Star in Underworld 5!

You might remember the Divergent hunk had a supporting role in last year’s Underworld: Awakening, but he’ll lead the cast in the fifth film.

Although, it has been said that Kate Beckinsale, who has starred in the four previous films, will not be back for Underworld: Next Generation, which is scheduled for release in 2015.

What happens to her storyline on the quest for her hybrid lover Michael is unknown at this time. All CelebNMusic247.com has heard is that Underworld 5 is now going to be a continuation of the saga, although it would seem that the franchise is going forward, without the stunningly beautiful Kate Beckinsale (Selene) thanks to Lakeshore Entertainment who has given the film the green light.

Thanks to THR we have our first confirmed starring role in Underworld 5, and that actor is Theo James (Divergent), who portrayed vampire David in Underworld 4 (Awakening). James will star opposite two female leads in the next Underworld film, and as I mentioned, sadly, Kate Beckinsale won’t be one of them.

If you remember, David is a Vampire-Corvinus Strain Hybrid, originally born a pure blooded Vampire. He is the son of Thomas, the leader of one of the remaining Vampire Covens, as well as the progeny of Selene. During a battle with Lycans, David was fatally wounded, and died in his father’s arms. Selene used her own Hybrid blood to revive David by cutting him open and introducing her blood directly into his heart, which changed David into the Vampire-Corvinus Strain Hybrid.

Theo James currently just finished wrapping the filming of the Divergent sequel Insurgent, so it would seem that he has some free time to begin filming of Underworld 5, pretty soon. So far, there are not many details surrounding the next Underworld movie, besides two female leads starring alongside Theo James, but one thing is for sure, it will NOT be a reboot.
