Is Dutchess misunderstood on Black Ink Crew or is she being made the villain of the show to boost ratings?

In season one of Black Ink Crew we were introduced to Dutchess Lattimore, a college graduate who moved to New York to become a tattoo artist, model and brand. During season one it was quickly known that Dutchess had feelings for her boss, Ceasar. The two had instant chemistry, so they took a leap of faith and went on a date. The only real drama in season 1, was the blowout beef between Alex and Dutchess, after Alex tried to throw herself on Ceasar during a party.

Anyhow, despite the Alex incident, their date was a success and Dutchess and Ceasar became an item, but was that the beginning of something great or the fall of Black Ink?

Dutchess is Just Misunderstood-1127-2Fast forward to season two of Black Ink Crew, Dutchess and Ceasar are going strong, but the crew hates her. The opening episode kicked off with Puma, Ceasar and Dutchess falling out and Puma leaving. Next, was the infamous rumor about Ted and Sassy, which Dutchess started. Then, when confronted by her former friend, Sassy, Dutchess denied starting the rumor and pinning it on Ted. Sassy was the next to leave the Black Ink Crew. The drama didn’t stop there with Dutchess, especially after episode 8 aired and Dutchess was offered her own T-Shirt clothing line. The only problem is she would have to team up with her ex-boyfriend which caused a riff in her relationship with Ceas.  In episode 9 Dutchess opened up to Ceasar, but he lost his trust in her.

Is Dutchess misunderstood, or did the producers of the show try to make Dutchess the villain of the series to increase the drama factor?

No, Dutchess is a hard working tattoo artist that comes off a bit insensitive and abrasive at times, Dutchess is Just Misunderstood-1127-5but we feel that she is just focused, determined and driven.

Does Dutchess Lattimore care if she make friends or enemies along the way?

We would say, most likely no, but her love for Ceasar is 100. Dutchess has a plan and that is to be a success in business and in her personal life. She is highly educated and a very talented tattoo artist. Despite the drama on season 2, Dutchess is just opinionated, and unedited. Monday night’s episode ended with Ceasar realizing that he wants to be with Dutchess and the episode ended with the two having an emotional embrace.

Does that make her mean?

No we disagree, we think Dutchess Lattimore is just misunderstood and may possibly be portrayed out of context on season 2 Black Ink Crew. Overall Dutchess has been faced with many dramas since her success on the Vh1 reality series from the blogosphere and the series portraying her in a dark light. Although, she has been able to stand strong and dust off the headlines.
