Jay Z Bringing Made In America Festival to L.A.

We reported earlier this month that Jay Z was in negotiation with the Mayor Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles for a new festival, his Made In America that’s going down in downtown Los Angeles.

Well CelebNMusic247.com reported on the festival that will be going down at Grand Park next to Los Angeles City Hall. We showed you the outline of the festival and closures of the upcoming summer festival last week while Jay Z was still in negotiations with Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Now Garcetti and Jay Z have come to an agreement. Today they have announced plans for the “Made In Americamusic festival in downtown L.A. Wednesday morning.  Despite the digs at Coachella, Hov made it clear that the festival will be happening in a nearby place, aka downtown LA, so concert goers won’t have far too travel. Another dig at Coachella. Let’s be real fans won’t have to worry about sand and dust downtown LA. Plus you can ride the metro to the festival.

We have the details of the upcoming festival for concert goers to spend their coins on!

The two-day festival, scheduled for August 30 and 31 in Grand Park, raised concerns from councilman Jose Huizar, who complained earlier this month about possible ten-day street closures in his district.

The event will be sponsored by Budweiser and organizer Jay Z and executives detailed the festival on City Hall’s steps at a morning news conference. Although the new Made In America’s line-up has not been announced. Pre-sale tickets were available to the public beginning Wednesday for $125 for the two day event, which is expected to draw approximately 50,000 concert go-ers.

Despite Huizar’s motion on March 28 (PDF) asking city staff to delay permits for the event proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the United Way.

Jay Z’s “Made In America” festival was previously held for the past two years in Philadelphia, Penn. This year the festival’s will be happening simultaneously. Yes Philadelphia, Penn. “Made In America” will be in conjunction with the Los Angeles concert.

CelebNMusic247.com thinks that the announcement is great and we look forward to Made In America in Los Angeles. Thank you Hov!
