Since the beginning of Sports Illustrated Magazine in 1954, the Sportman of the Year award is given to an athlete, coach or team that best symbolizes in character and performance the ideals of sportsmanship.

This honor has previously been received by the likes of Peyton Manning, LeBron James, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Joe Montana, Cal Ripken Jr. and Tom Brady.

This years recipients include San Francisco Giants Pitcher and World Series MVP, Madison Bumgarner honored for 2014 Sportsman of the Year; Earvin “Magic” Johnson honored with Sportsman of the Year Legacy Award and Mo’Nae Davis awarded SportsKid of the Year. It was an amazing evening of honor and recognition for these three outstanding athletes and individuals.
