Michael Sam Cut From Dallas Cowboys!!

Michael Sam Cut From Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys announced today that Michael Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted into the NFL

Michael Sam is out of a job again, since the Cowboys sign linebacker Troy Davis!

The Dallas Cowboys waived rookie end Michael Sam off their practice squad Tuesday and signed linebacker Troy Davis. This is the second team Sam has been cut by.  The first openly gay player drafted by an NFL, who waived in the final round of cuts by the St. Louis Rams back in August.

In August, Sam was drafted by the Rams in the seventh round out of Missouri, ended up waiting to hear if he had made the St. Louis Rams finalized rosters after they trimmed the players down to 53 athletes.

Unfortunately things didn’t workout and on Saturday shortly before the NFL’s 4 p.m. ET at a press conference following the announcement, Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher said that Sam was notified of his release on Saturday.

Michael Sam kept it professional and replied  with a “Thanks for the opportunity.”

Shortly after the St. Louis Rams announced that they cut Michael Sam, the Dallas Cowboys have swooped in and signed him to their practice squad.

Despite being cut, Sam is staying positive and professionalism, expressing his appreciation to the Cowboys and fans via Twitter (read from the bottom up):
