Who should play Dr Dre and Ice Cube in F Gary Grey’s NWA biopic film?
The great hip-hop puzzle begins as our friend F. Gary Grey is casting the N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton.
The film produced by Ice Cube’s Cube Vision is on a search for the perfect guys to take on two of the West Coasts most infamous, most influential, and most legendary rap stars spanning over 2 decades.
Cube recently told MTV News that casting on Straight Outta Compton was set to begin today, January 8.
Director F. Gary Grey is set to take the helm on the project, which has been in development for several years now. Cube tells MTV News that the filmmakers “just now got all the rights” and the Jonathan Herman-penned script is being “fine-tuned.”
Cube explains:
“We’re trying to tell aspects of our lives that people don’t know about, people aren’t privy to.”
“The neighborhood influenced NWA and then NWA influenced the neighborhood. That’s what we’re trying to portray.”
