Drake PR Team Drops Him

Over the past couple month Drake has made some disrespectful comments since he did get the cover of Rolling Stone magazine like he thought.

Drake was bumped after actor Phillp Seymour Hoffman passed.

Drake didn’t take the bump well despite the magazine telling him in advance. Instead Drake took his anger to social media like Kanye West which has now seemed to have backfired.  CelebNMusic247.com has learned that Drake’s PR Firm ID-PR will no longer be working with the 27-year-old rapper.

The news was first revealed by Billboard who reports that the company had been teaming with him throughout the past year to handle publicity for his third album, Nothing Was the Same, and his current world tour, Would You Like a Tour? which is wrapping up next month. Nothing Was the Same opened at number one on the Billboard chart in October 2013, marking his biggest opening sales week ever.

Sources say that the company has dropped Drake a result of his reaction to not being given the Rolling Stone cover earlier this month as planned. Instead, the cover featured a photo of late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, with Drake’s name but not photo appearing on the cover. ID-PR had helped to arrange the Rolling Stonestory for Drake.

On February 13, Drake tweeted that he was “disgusted” that he lost out on the cover to Philip, adding that “the press is evil.” Those tweets were deleted, and he later posted on his blog that he had been “forced out of my character.” Evidently, his PR folks weren’t thrilled by how he handled himself, given that they probably have to work closely with that so-called “evil” press.

ID-PR has released a statement about the parting of ways:

“Drake is an incredibly talented artist, and we’re proud of our results for Nothing Was The Same and Would You Like A Tour? We wish him the best.”

Before ID-PR, Drake had been repped by The Chamber Group.
